The Best Autumn/Winter Footwear Trends For Men 2021

Feb 5, 2022 | FASHION TIPS

When we talk about fashion, what readily comes to mind is clothes. Yes, they’re an integral part of it, but what’s an elegant dress without appropriate shoes to match the style? During winter and autumn, everyone changes their style to suit their current reality, and it’s okay. While you’re concerned about your dress, consider the best shoes for the season.

What kind of footwear should you wear this winter and autumn season? Here are the trends for men in 2021. You should check them out!

Breathable Boots

First, you don’t just walk into any fashion store to buy just any boots because it is winter. You should have certain specifications in mind – breathability is one of them. Boots are either made of GORE-TEX, nylon, or leather, and of the three, nylon is more breathable. GORE-TEX is perfect for people who are prone to sweating on their feet. It would be best if you also tried out a winter boot with arctic grip technology this season. This means you wouldn’t have to bother about your naughty friends who would laugh at you if you slip because the waterproof materials are made for puddles, slush, snow, name them. Regardless of the design you prefer, comfort is a crucial determinant of choice. Your winter boots should promote your walking posture and offer foot support. Find a model that uses lightweight materials so you are not held back while others have fun outdoors. So yes! You have an idea of the boot you should target this season. However, it would help if you didn’t sacrifice your fashion sense on the altar of safety; else, the fashion police would come after you.

Sneakers

Sneakers are a go-to any day, any time. In fact, they are the most comfortable footwear out there. Sneakers for winter? Yes! You’re surprised, right? You can wear them even in the most frigid temperatures. If you think you need a break from all the boots next season, this is an option. Don’t settle for low-tops because they expose your ankles to the weather’s harshness. Why then should you wear a shoe if you’ll expose your feet to the frigid cold outside? I’ve seen many people wear all sorts of colors during winter, but hey, black does it for me. White ones attract messy sludge, but the black one remains intact throughout the day. Did you know there’s a waterproof canvas specially made for winter? Of course! They are made with waterproof leather that provides good insulation and keeps your feet warm. Metallic sneakers are the latest 2021 trend you shouldn’t miss. You can rock them with jeans and long socks for your date.

Moccasins

The word moccasin dated back to the 1600s and didn’t use to have any sole. Today, they come in varying shapes, sizes and are worn casually. The ranger moc is about the most popular version of the shoe as most men have it in their closets. Moccasins are a great companion during fall, which is why your best friend loves them. This street-ready shoe is comfortable, stylish, and feels very welcoming for your cute feet. Gone are the days when they were only brown moccasins – you can have as many colors as you want. While rocking them during fall, ensure that it matches your clothes too. This footwear doesn’t have to be casual all the time as you can combine it with corporate wear too. Do you have one yet?

Bluchers

When the weather gets cold, there’s a shift in the style sense, particularly our shoes’ choice. When it comes to your feet, what readily comes to mind is boots, but we sometimes forget that other types of shoes can offer the same comfort level. Bluchers are sophisticated and versatile, meaning that you can combine them with different clothing. It is best to wear them with no-show socks to avoid going out of style while wearing them. They also add a fancy twist to your elegance as you step out of your home. You should try bluchers and thank me later.

Hiking Boots

Hiking boots for winter have evolved over the past decades, with most of them manufactured with lightweight materials. Several years ago, you would panic at the start of the cold season because you have to choose between plastic mountaineering boots or military surplus boots to keep your feet warm. That doesn’t happen anymore as you can have a breathable, waterproof, and insulated shoe optimized to withstand the weather’s harshness. There are many brands of the same shoe with various insulation levels and features that’ll blow your mind. Some of which is the enhanced comfort you enjoy, protective toe cap, eco insulation, heat-reflecting insoles, padded tongue, front and rear welts, etc. You can’t use your regular shoes during winter hiking because they are not insulated and waterproof. Look out for the temperature ratings of any product and decide if it would give you the warmth you desire.

Brogues

Whether it is fall or winter, brogues are a must. They are unique and can be combined with any dress you wear. Like many other shoes, this footwear’s initial perception is quite different from what we have today. The holes on brogues were used to drain water after crossing swamps in muddy Ireland. Today, we admire them and wouldn’t keep them in mud for any reason. Dark brown is suitable for formal occasions, while lighter ones are perfect for casual days.  Are you ready to wear them? Ensure they are well-polished and are in tip-top shape. As a rule of thumb, the less broguing on the shoe, the more formal it is and vice versa.

Shoes can make or break your outfit. You can’t go wrong with any of these trendy footwears I’ve outlined here. They are lightweight and allow you to walk several miles without putting undue pressure on your toes. If you can’t afford a pair of new shoes this season, feel free to warm your old one with heated insoles. Which of these trends will you rock in 2021? Please tell us.
